Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf of bread about 1 pound
  • 8 ounces of steak sirloin or ribeye
  • 8 ounces of shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup of shredded cheese mozzarella or cheddar
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the bread by cutting a large pocket into the loaf.
  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Add the steak to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and medium-rare, then remove from the pan.
  • In the same pan, add the shrimp and cook until they are pink and opaque.
  • In a bowl, combine the cooked steak and shrimp with oregano, red pepper flakes, and shredded cheese.
  • Stuff the bread pocket with the steak-shrimp mixture and place it on a baking sheet.
  • Brush the outside of the loaf with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the bread is golden and crispy.
  • Let the bread cool slightly before slicing and serving.
